and ready to celebrate…
Yesterday Tasya started to cry up on the changing table when Mama went into the bathroom to get something. Luca, not knowing anyone could hear him, went up to her and said, “I’m sorry I can’t take you down from there. I’m too little. But I’m still your big brother.”
The other day, Mama asked Luca a question and called him “Sweetie.” He responded, “Mama, which sweetie are you talking to, that sweetie [pointing to Tasya], or this sweetie [pointing to himself], because now you have TWO sweeties!” The rest of the day, he called Tasya “Little Sweetie.”
This morning as Luca waddled into the living room with a VERY full diaper, he turned to Mama and said, “This is how you walked when you had the baby in your belly!”
Today Luca composed a new song in Chinese, and, wearing his new sunglasses (in the dark), his brown shorts, and his red converse high tops, belted it out as we were leaving a restaurant from dinner. It goes, “我真漂亮,我大大大!” (“I’m so handsome, I’m BIG BIG BIG!”
Happy Happy Birthday on your four weeks of being here with your family! Wonderful four weeks! I adore your socks with painted on shoes….So comfy looking! You make me want to give you a huge hug and kiss and snuggle! love, granny
Oh, Luca…how the world is far more interesting with YOU in it! I hope you keep making up lots and lots of songs. …and you ARE so handsome and so big! and good for you for wearing sunglasses! love, granny
