Luca’s first camping trip

This weekend, Luca went on his first camping trip with Baba and Mama, to celebrate Father’s Day. We went to Russian Gulch State Park in Mendocino, along the coast in wine and redwood country.

After we set up our tent on our campsite right next to a little creek, and made up Luca’s bed next to ours, we had a campfire and roasted marshmallows. Luca didn’t want to sleep so he stayed up way past his bedtime. He loved being in the tent and looking at the light through the yellow ceiling, and listening to all the many birds singing to him.camping2.JPG.jpgcamping3.JPG.jpgcamping4.JPG.jpg

In the morning, he woke up with a bad case of bedhead.

The next morning, we went for a long walk along the ocean at the Mendocino Headlands. We saw so many wildflowers on the walk.

Luca napped on Baba’s back for most of the time, then woke up and was happy to see the sea.

This afternoon we went for a long hike in the park where we camped, and Luca had fun looking at the butterflies and the creek and the waterfalls. Then we drove home. Luca was so tired out he slept most of the trip.

  1. It looks like your first camping trip was a happy occasion for you and Mama and Baba and I even saw that your CRAB went along too—–You have always loved being outdoors, since you were a tiny newborn baby, and I especially loved seeing all the beautiful flowers that you saw. Did they smell sweet? What were the birds singing to you?—and to sleep next to a stream—was it the Russian River?—–must have been fantastic——Was it chilly?—Your happy smile when you are in your carrier is the greatest!—–When will the three of you go camping again?—–The light filtering down through the trees in the last photo shows what a beautiful world you live in, Luca!!!!!!!!
