I was deep in sleep all time during Mama and Baba’s walk. But I smelled fragrant of flowers in my dream. When I woke up, I heard Baba was telling Mama that there are at least three Indian restaurants nearby. Mama said that there are “many characters” live in these blocks. But I do not understand what does she mean by “characters.” Am I a character, Granny?

Yes, you are a character, Luca—just look at the way you bounce up and down and laugh loudly!!!–But you are the best kind of character. Do you think your Mama means Chinese characters? Actually I guess you are part a Chinese character too. Does Chacha know about the Indian restaurants in your neighborhood? Can you walk to Chez Panisse too.? Do you remember that day when Grampy and I walked you around and around and around the neighborhood in your carriage while your Mama and Baba had a lunch at Chez Panisse?—It was fun!!
